A Tour to Myra - Demre, Saint Nicholas, Kekova
Myra is an antique Lycian town. Our hotel is only 40 km. away from Demre, where Saint Nicholas has lived and has his grave.
About Saint Nicholas: There was this farmer's doughter who was very industrious and cute. Although she was mature enough to get married she wasn't able to do so due to their povert. While they kept on praying for the best things in life, one day packages of gifts and gold coins came down their chimney. This reoccured also in other homes around their neighborhood thus turning poor farmers into rich and wealthy families. People knew that it was Saint Nicholas who carried the treasures from a cave up on the 3000m. high Akdag Mountain down to Demre on slades and that he was the one to disrubute the packages.
On the otherhand the beautiful Kekova with its sunken cities is only 40km. away from our hotel.
Voyage to Patara, HiddenCity, Xantos and Kalkan
Patara has the largest sand coast in Turkey which also ranks the third among the world coasts. It used to be the capital of Lycia and is now a very important archeological site. The first govermental system in history has been formed there.
The HiddenCity is set in canyon in the 3024m. high Akdag Mountain.
Xantos is the warrior city of liberation in ancient Lyica. The voluntary soldiers of Xantos have been sent Troja to fight in the Trojan war of liberation.

Trip to the Kaş Amphitheatre, the Peninsula, Uzuncarsi and the bays along the panoramic boat tour to the Greek Islands
Kaş- Antifellos is the bay city of the ancient Lycia. Kaş is known by its Hellenistic Amphitheatre, the cave tombs and the turquoise waters in the surrounding bays. It takes place right in the middle of the ancient Lycia territories. Kaş is also known as the City of Light. Kaş and Kalkan coasts are always mentioned as the "Turquoise Coasts" in the geographical scene.
Besides the beauties on this side of coast, there is also the breathtaking scenery of the Meis Island - Kastellorizon which is the closest Greek island to the Turkish Coast. It is a member of thr Dodecanese and is only 15km. away from Kaş. It has been under siege during the WW II by the Germans and the Italians. It has been said that when defeated by thr end of the WW II a German and an Italian soldier took refuge in Kaş and stayed in the house of Topal Veli of Kaş. It has also been said that the " Captain Corelli's Mandoline" has been inspired by this tale. The love story between the Greek girl and the Italian soldier stated in the novel has supposedly taken place in Meis.
Kaş, Kalkan and Patara have numerous mythological tales about them. It is believed that Zeus used to meet his mistress Leton in these cities and that The Sun God - Apollo has been born and lived his life here.
A trip to the valley; Akdag Mountain, Yeşil Göl - Ucarsu, Tekke Village, Abdal Musa Tomb, Elamli Helvacilar Bazaar and the Omer Pasha Mosque
Elmali is a typical old Ottoman town Tekke village with the Abdal Musa Tomb and the cedar forests of Akdag Mountain, the travertine lake - Yeşil Göl and Ucarsu are only in 60 km. of reach from the Bilgin Hotel.
The tale of Ucarsu - the waters that changed the direction of running on its own will... On the skirts of the 3000m. high Akdag Mountain an old man asked a young shepherd girl to give him some water. He has been walking all day and was really tired and thirsty. He has asked the people on the other side of the mountain for water as well but they have refused him by saying the water is not enough for them in the first place. But this young woman has offered him the last drops of water she has saved for the baby she was carrying on her back. The old man has drunk the water and disappeared all of a sudden. Water have sprung from the ground that he was just standing on. The springing water first reached the top of the mountain then turned into a waterfall and formed a river called Ucarsu - The Flyingwater. In winter time Ucarsu have flooded the villages of those who didn't share their water wheras in the summer time it became a fountain of life for the villages of the young woman who shared her water with the old man.
Activities: Kaş has all the possibilities for diving, paragliding, cycling and jogging or trekking. Kaş is the home for one of the few renowed diving centers. The Bilgin Hotel is right in the middle of all these historical and natural sites, in the heart of ancient Lycia.
